Does Alamo accept Debit Cards?
No, Alamo will not accept debit cards at the start of a rental.
A credit card or cash qualification is required.
12. Will Alamo
check my Driving Record before renting me a car?
• Alamo may verify your driving
record with the department of motor vehicles. • Alamo
requires that all drivers have a clean driving record.
• Rental privileges are denied if a drivers license
is suspended on his/her record.
13. What are
the Driver's License Requirements?
Below are Alamo's driver's license requirement
policies:
• In order to rent an Alamo vehicle, a valid driver's
license is required and must be "in hand" at time
of rental.
• International renters must present a valid readable
un-expired license from their country of residence.
• No Learner Permits or photocopies are accepted. Temporary
driver's licenses are accepted only if for change of residence
or replacement of lost or stolen license.
• If no photo ID, the description on the license must
match that of the renter.
14. How much
fuel will I recieve in the tank when at the time of rental.
• Alamo provides at least a ½
tank of gas at the time of rental. If the car is returned
with the same amount of fuel when received , no refueling
service charge will be applied.
• When choosing not to refuel the vehicle, Alamo will
provide this at an extra cost (applicable rate is specified
in the rental agreement). This rate is higher than if you
would purchage fuel from a service station.
15. Is their
an extra fee if I bring back the rental car later than ageed?
• Alamo calculates rates based on
a 24-hour period from the time of rental. If you do not bring
back the car on time, you will incur a late charge. After
4 hours a full day will be charged.
16. What happens
if the car that I rented has mechanical Problems or if I get
into an Accident?
• You must notify Alamo within 24
hours of the accident, and you will likely be required to
complete another accident report for Alamo’s records
and your own. This report is for both parties' protection,
and is particularly important if you have purchased a waiver
of damage. Be aware that statements you make may be made a
permanent part of the accident report. Remember to be truthful
and accurate as your statements may be used in legal claims.
17. Is there
a Minimum Rental period?
• Any rental of less than 24 hours
will be charged a full day's rate.
18. Who is considered
the Primary Renter when renting a car?
The primary renter is the driver that
is listed first on the rental agreement. This person will
be responsible for the Alamo car.
19. What is
a Rental Agreement?
The rental agreement is the contract between
Alamo and the renter. It requires the renter's signature and
lists total charges and conditions of rental.
20. What do
I need to do if I want to keep the car a few extra days Rental?
When a customer wishes to extend a rental,
the additional charges will be paid directly to the renting
location at the current local rate. The original rate of rental
is not guaranteed for the extended portion of the rental term.
21. Which Qualifications
do you need to rent a car?
To qualify to rent a vehicle with Alamo
the following requirements must be met:
• You must have a valid driver's license issued by the
state or country in which you reside.
• You must be 25 years of age (or, in some limited cases,
23 years of age).
• Preferably payment by valid major credit card in your
own name.
22. What is
a Reservation?
A reservation is confirmation of a vehicle
which is reserved for a customer at a particular location,
on a specified date, at an agreed upon base rate price plus
taxes, surcharges and fees. Taxes, surcharges and fees are
subject to change. Modifications to a reservation could result
in a change in rate. Vehicles are reserved by rate code and
vehicle category
23. Who is Responsible
for the Rental Vehicle?
Alamo holds the renter responsible
for the safe return of the rental vehicle in the same condition
as it was rented, except for normal wear and tear. Unless
prohibited by law, a renter may be held responsible for all
damages, including loss of use, should the vehicle be damaged
in an accident, stolen or vandalized. This is the case regardless
of fault. Whether who is at fault in the accident, the renter
may be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the
total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck
or loss. Be sure any estimated damage to the vehicle has been
recorded properly before leaving the rental location.
24. Are their
any Surcharges or Taxes applicable when renting a car.
The additional charges listed below will
be itemized on your rental agreement:
• Local sales taxes and other surcharges, taxes and
fees may be applicable. • The estimated rate quoted
during an online reservation provides you more detailed information
on specific charges.
25. What does
an Upgrade mean?
• Vehicle car category higher than
the one charged offered at time of rental depending on car
availability (additional charges may apply).
26. What’s
a Walkup / Walk-In?
A 'walk in'
is a renter who does not have a confirmed reservation prior
to renting a vehicle.
